The First Christmas
There she was.
The young woman with the radiant smile.
She was leaning against one of the stalls,
and the eyes in the happy face were closed.
The man was at her side.
And behind them, in the manger
where the cows came for their food,
was the Baby.
He was a tiny thing,
wrapped tightly in a long linen band
and sleeping as soundly as any newborn baby.
Sleeping as though the world
had not waited thousands of years for this moment.
As soundly as though your life and my life
and the life of everyone on earth
were not wrapped up in His birth.
As though from this moment on
all the sins and sorrow of the world
were not His problem.
Should you speak to His mother resting so quietly there?
Should you ask her if you might touch the Baby-
not to wake Him, but just to touch His hand?
What a moment that would have been!
To have reached out your own hand and touch
the Son of God!
-Ruth Bell Graham

Dear soul,
Christ came to earth so we might have eternal life.
Imagine God the Son, was willing enough to come to earth
in the form of a baby, and experience all that we experience,
and yet live victoriously, so that He could die a perfect sacrifice,
for the redemption of our sins.
It should overwhelm our hearts
just how much He really loved us!
Yet He suffered the agony of the cross
to bear the sins of the world,
so that the world through Him might be saved.
The Scripture assures us of this,
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart
that God hath raised Him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved."
-Romans 10:9
If you would like to receive the gift of eternal life
you can commit your life to Christ,
and begin a relationship with Him
by praying a prayer such as the following:
"O God, I am a sinner.
I am sorry for my sins.
Please forgive me.
I want to turn from my sin.
I receive Jesus Christ as my Savior;
I confess Him as my Lord.
From now on, I want to follow Him.
In Jesus' name, Amen."
If you have decided to trust Jesus Christ as your Savior
after reading this invitation, we would love to hear from you,
(Your first name is sufficient.)

'Twas the Night Jesus came
'Twas the night Jesus came and all through the house
Not a person was praying, not one in the house.
The Bibles were left on the shelf without care,
For no one thought that Jesus would come there.
The children were dressing to crawl in their bed,
Not once ever kneeling or bowing a head.
And mom in her rocker with baby in her lap
Was watching the Late Show while I took a nap.
When out of the east there rose such a clatter,
I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash
Tore open the shutters and lifted the sash!
When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But angels proclaiming that Jesus was here!
The light of His face made me cover my head--
It was Jesus returning, just as He said.
And though I posessessed worldly wisdom and wealth,
I cried when I saw Him in spite of myself.
In the Book of Life which He held in His hand
Was written the name of every saved man.
He spoke not a word as He searched for my name;
When He said,"It's not here" my head hung in shame.
The people whose names had been written with love
He gathered to take to His Father above.
With those who were ready He rose without a sound
While all the rest were left standing around.
I fell to my knees, but it was too late;
I had waited too long and thus sealed my fate.
I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight;
Oh, if only I'd known this was the night.
In the words of this poem the meaning is clear;
The coming of Jesus is now drawing near.
There's only one life and when comes the last call
We'll find that the Bible was true after all.
Soul, The Scriptures says:
"If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus,
and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead,
you shall be saved. " - Romans 10:9
Have a joyfilled Christmas!
