Journey Through Grief

Dealing with Grief and Depression

"...And the woman was left of her two sons and her husband.

...And she said unto them, call me not Naomi, call me Mara:

for the Almighty hath dealt very bitterly with me.

I went out full, and the Lord hath brought me home empty...

~ Ruth 1:5, 1:20-21a

Oh, the deep waters of grief

when a sudden surge of tears spin your life out of control!

You don't know if you can go on, but you do,

because you have to.

You feel your world collapsing around you.

Things always look worse in the darkness of the night.

In the midst of your pain you hurl accusations at God.

Yet, He never lets go of your hand.

The dam of your heartache bursts into a flood of despair

and you weep inconsolably.

In your hurt God often seems silent,

friends don't offer much consolation

as you're swept away in the current of grief.

There are times in your life that involve famine and restoration.

The seasons of famine are a necessary part of His plan.

Once they have accomplished their purpose

you shall see their fulfillment,

showing His gracious hand in your life.

Behind the scenes God is working,

orchestrating the events and people in your life.

In His perfect timing, He will give you the desire of your heart.

The desire which you prayed for so many years ago.

God is in no hurry...

nothing can thwart His plans.

He has an appointed time

at which every detail will be accomplished.

The crocus will peek through the barren ground

unfolding His purpose,

revealing you as His chosen treasure,

refined by the fire, an instrument of His grace.

"When thou passest through the waters,

I will be with thee;

and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee:

when thou walkest through the fire,

thou shalt not be burned;

neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. "

~ Isaiah 43:2

Dear soul,

You're not home yet. The best is yet to be.

Although you may not understand the reason

in which He has allowed your season of suffering,

rest assured that He will use even this

to accomplish His work,

for your grace and ultimately for His glory.

Tonight,if you would like to receive the gift of eternal life

first you must believe in the Lord.

You have to ask for your sins to be forgiven,

and place your trust in the Lord.

There's only one way to Heaven and that's through the Lord Jesus.

That's God's wonderful plan of salvation.

You can begin a personal relationship with Him

by praying a prayer such as the following:

"Dear Lord, I am sinner.

I am sorry for my sins.

I want to turn from my sin.

I receive Jesus Christ as my Savior;

I confess Him as my Lord.

From now on I want to follow Him.

In Jesus' name, Amen."

If you have received the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior

after reading this invitation, please let us know.

We would love to hear from you.  Your first name is sufficient.

We'll leave the light on for you...

Welcome to the family of God!

We are excited about your decision to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior,

and would like to encourage you to find a local church

that you could be a part of to help you grow in your new walk with Him.

Also, we encourage you to develop a personal relationship with the Lord

by reading the Scriptures and to pray to Him often.

Talk to Him as you would talk to a dearest friend.

He desires that closeness and intimacy with you!

"He shall feed his flock like a shepherd:

he shall gather the lambs with his arm,

and carry them in his bosom,

and shall gently lead those that are with young."
