Are You Good Enough to Get to Heaven?

Dear Soul,
What would you say if you were asked,
"Are you good enough to go to heaven?"
Maybe you think,
"I haven't been such a bad person."
"I go to church most Sundays."
"I think my good outweigh my bad."
But what does the Scripture say about your condition?
The scripture says,
"There is none righteous, no not one,"
~ Romans 3:21
"All of our righteousness are as filthy rags."
~ Isaiah 64:6
That doesn't sound too encouraging, does it?
We are all born sinners since the fall of Adam.
Daily we struggle with desires that are not pleasing to God.
God gave us the Ten Commandments
to be held up as a mirror to reveal to us our dirty hearts.
Only when we look into the mirror of the Ten Commandments
can we see our sinfulness to lead us to Christ who can save us.
But thanks be to God that we have a Savior
who understands our weaknesses.
He is familiar with our temptations
having been tempted in all areas of life,
yet without sin.
Take a moment to search your heart.
How well are you doing in keeping the Ten Commandments?
1- "Thou shalt have no other gods before me."
Soul, are there any other gods in your life
besides the One and True God?
2- "Thou shalt not make unto thee any grave image..."
Have you ever bowed down or worship anything or anyone but God?
3- "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord Thy God in vain."
Have you ever used the Lord's name in profanity,
even in a heated moment?
4- "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it Holy."
Do you set aside the Lord's day as a day of rest,
or is it just another day of the week
filled with work and pleasure.
5- "Honor thy father and thy mother"
Do you obey your parents with a reverent heart,
or do you roll your eyes and obey them grudgingly?
6- "Thou shalt not kill"
Have you ever killed someone,
or wished them dead when you've been angry?
7- "Thou shalt not commit adultery"
Have you ever committed adultery,
or lusted after someone in your heart?
8- "Thou shalt not steal"
Have you ever stolen anything? Anything at all?
9- "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor"
Have you ever told a lie or damaged another's character?
10 - "Thou shalt not covet"
Have you ever desired something that belonged to another person?
In the light of God's commandments, how well did you do?
It's a sobering thought, isn't it!
We are all guilty of sin. You are and so am I.
The Scripture says,
"For whosoever shall keep the whole law,
and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of them all.
~ James 2:10
Only when we realize the awfulness of our sin against God,
and feel its deep sorrow in our hearts
can we turn from the sin we once loved,
and have a relationship with Him in heaven.
"But God commendeth His love toward us,
in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
~ Romans 5:8
It should overwhelm our hearts and turn us to God.
The Scripture says,
"For God so loved the world,
that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish,
but have everlasting life."
~ John 3:16
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart
that God hath raised Him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved."
~ Romans 10:9
Tonight, if you would like to receive the gift of eternal life
first you must believe in the Lord.
You have to ask for your sins to be forgiven
and put your trust in the Lord.
There's only one way to heaven and that's through the Lord Jesus.
That's God's wonderful plan of salvation.
You can begin a personal relationship with Him
by praying a prayer such as the following:
"O God, I am a sinner.
I am sorry for my sins.
Please forgive me.
I want to turn from my sin.
I receive Jesus Christ as my Savior;
I confess Him as my Lord.
From now on I want to follow Him.
In Jesus' name, Amen"
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
~ Romans 10:13
"According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world..."
~ Ephesians 1:4
If you have received the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior
after reading this invitation, please let us know.
We would love to hear from you. Your first name is sufficient.
We'll leave the light on for you...
Welcome to the family of God!
We are excited about your decision to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior,
and would like to encourage you to find a local church
that you could be a part of to help you grow in your new walk with Him.
Also, we encourage you to develop a personal relationship with the Lord
by reading the Scriptures and to pray to Him often.
Talk to Him as you would talk to a dearest friend.
He desires that closeness and intimacy with you!
"He shall feed his flock like a shepherd:
he shall gather the lambs with his arm,
and carry them in his bosom,
and shall gently lead those that are with young."
~ Isaiah 40:11
