Real Life...Real Issues

This invitation is open to you.
To those who hurt and harbor bitterness,
I speak especially to you tonight.
We live in a time of quiet desperation.
Broken homes and promises are a familiar cord
that transcends through many of our lives.
Many teens are searching for someone or something
to fill the emptiness that they feel inside.
Many turn to sex, to drugs or alcohol
to numb their pain,
others contemplate suicide
or turn to "cutting"
to release some of the hurt.
You are too precious, dear soul.
How it must grieve the Father's heart
as He suffers along with you.
The Lord has plans for you.
Plans to prosper you and not harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.
Many teens have heard the message of a "Father's Love,"
but never experienced a father's love as to relate it to,
so its message falls on deaf ears and soon it is forgotten.
Many wonder why their parent walked out on them,
they feel abandoned and somehow at fault.
Let me in on you a secret dear friend,
"It was never your fault...
nor will it ever be."
Adult issues are adult issues
that young shoulders were never meant to bear.
Tonight, I want you to know that you are loved.
Quietly loved in Jesus.
Give to Him all your hurts, your bitterness, and anger
that you've been harboring onto so long.
Release them tonight, dear soul!
Visualize as I did, a helium balloon ascending into the air,
until your hurts get smaller and smaller
the closer it gets to God.
The Lord understands your feelings,
you're not alone in your thoughts.
For He was a man of sorrows and aquatinted with grief.
He was tempted in all area of life as you are, yet without sin,
so that He could carry your sins to the cross
and remove from you its guilt and shame.
The Scripture says to be filled with hate is to commit murder,
murder in our hearts.
Have you been guilty of murder, dear friend?
Then confess it to God.
Many of you are struggling with lustful thoughts.
You're entangled in the web of pornography
and don't know your way out.
The Scripture says,
"...that to look lustfully at a woman is to commit adultery.
Adultery in your heart.
Have you been guilty of adultery?
Confess
it to God.
I'm not trying to give you a verbal lashing
to add to your already wounded heart.
... in breaking one commandment you have broken them all.
We have all broken God's commandments.
You have, and so have I.
Only when we realize the awfulness of our sin against God,
and feel its deep sorrow in our heart,
can we accept the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior
and have a relationship with Him in heaven.
Tonight, if you would like to receive the gift of eternal life
first you must believe in the Lord.
You have to ask for your sins to be forgiven
and place your trust in the Lord.
There's only one way to heaven and that's through the Lord Jesus.
That's God's wonderful plan of salvation.
You can begin a personal relationship with Him
by praying a prayer such as the following:
"Dear Lord, I am a sinner.
I've been a sinner all of my life.
Forgive me Lord!
I want to turn from my sin.
I receive Jesus as my Savior;
I confess Him as my Lord.
From now on I want to follow Him.
In Jesus' name I pray, Amen."
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
~ Romans 10:13
"According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world..."
~ Ephesians 1:4
