Understanding the Web of Pronography

Dear soul,

Let me speak to your heart for a moment.

I'm not here to condemn you,

or to judge where you have been.

I understand just how easy

it is to get caught in the web of pornography.

Temptation is everywhere.

It’s an issue that we are all faced with.

Daily we are enticed by what we see on television,

in the movies, or on the internet.

It may seem like a little thing

to look at that which is pleasing to the eye.

The trouble is, looking turns into lusting,

and lusting is a desire that is never satisfied.

…Every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his lust,

and enticed.

Then when lust hath conceived,

it bringeth forth sin:

And sin, when it is finished,

bringeth forth death.(James 1:14&15)

Often this is the sequence that draws a soul into pornography.

The scriptures deals with this common issue...

“… I say unto you, that who ever looketh on a woman

to lust after her

hath committed adultery with her

already in his heart.

And if your right eye offend you, pluck it out,

and cast it from you:

for it is profitable for you

that one of your members should perish,

and not that your whole body should be cast into Hell."

(Matthew 5:28&29)

Satan knows the temptations we face.

He uses alluring devices, beautiful images

and seductive thoughts

to entice us into his destructive web.

We become intrigued.

Our interest leads us into a seemingly harmless path,

ensnaring us into the web of pornography.

Shame and guilt holds its tightening grip.

It becomes a stronghold in our life.

Our freedom is lost, we face a private battle,

entangled in the web of pornography.

Satan sees our struggle.

He laughs at us delirieously,

"…Art thou become as weak as we?

God’s grace can’t reach you now,

your soul is beyond His reach!”

Many die in its entanglement.

Others question their faith in God.

"Have I wandered too far from His love,

Will His grace reach down to me?"

Our weakest moments are when we're lonely.

We're enticed by our own lustful thoughts.

We flirt with temptation when we should flee.

"What harm will it do,

no one will  find out...."

We say to ourselves convincingly.

Its moments of pleasure are dimly lit,

in comparison to the lonliness that sets sin,

having been deceived.

Homesickness sweeps over our soul,

our feet ache having been torched by the coals.

Frustration fills the heart with anger.

Its broken promises,

and shattered value of self worth.

Not lift up so much as our eyes to heaven

we cry out to God for deliverance.

"O God, have mercy upon me!"

A ray of hope washes over our soul.

Hope that is only found in Jesus Christ.

He picks us up from the pit we have fallen,

and bathes us in His mercy.

His grace stooped lower to hear my cry,

He’ll do the same for you too.

If you have felt His cleansing power

and are in need of  forgiveness,

you can begin healing tonight.

You can be freed  from the web of pornography.

The scriptures says,

"If we confess your sins,

He is faithful and just

to forgive us our sins,

and to cleanse us

from all unrighteousness."

(1 John 1:9)

Everything that  comes into our life

has beeen filtered  by the hands of a loving Father.

Although it saddened  His heart, He allowed it

only if it can bring  good into our lives.

Right now, wherever you are,

you can bow your head,

and commit your heart and life to Christ,

and begin a relationship with Him

by praying a prayer such as the following:

"Oh God, I am sinner. I am sorry for my sins.

Please forgive me. I want to turn from my sin.

I receive Jesus Christ as my Savior;

I confess Him as my Lord.

From now on, I want to follow Him.

In Jesus' name, Amen."
