What Do the Scriptures Say About Hell

Dear Soul,

Please don't resent me for writing you this uncomfortable letter.

It's a topic that is not frequently discussed,

yet it will be the most important decision of your life.

"Where will you spend eternity?"

"Where will you be in a hundred years from now?"

Look around for a moment.

Everyone that you see will be in eternity

in a hundred years from now.

Some may say,

"How could a loving God send a person to hell?"

Soul, He doesn't send you there.

You send yourself there by rejecting the blood of His Son.

You would have to walk over His blood stained body in order to go to hell,

yet thousands of people everyday make their decision simply by doing nothing.

You may say, "I don't believe in hell,"

but that doesn't make hell any less real.

Hell is the chosen home of the unbeliever,

for nothing impure will enter the City.

Listen for a moment to what the Scriptures say about hell.

What if you were to come to such a place?

"But the wicked are like the troubled sea,

when it cannot rest,

whose waters cast up mire and dirt.

There is no peace, saith my God to the wicked."

~ Isaiah 57: 20-21

".... he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone

in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

And the smoke of their torment assented up forever and ever:

and they have no rest day nor night..."

~ Revelations 14:10-11

"But the fearful, and unbelieving

and the abominable, and murderers,

whoremongers, and sorcerers,

and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part

in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone:

which is the second death."

               ~ Revelations 21:8

"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life

was cast into the lake of fire."

                 ~ Revelations 20:15

"And shall cast them into a furnace of fire:

there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth."

              ~ Matthew 13:42

"Where their worm dieth not,

and the fire is not quenched."

           ~Mark 9:48

"Then shall He Say also unto them on the left hand,

Depart from Me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire,

prepared for the devil and his angels..."

~ Matthew 25:41

Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction

and shut out from the presence of the Lord,

and from the glory of His power..."

                      ~ 2 Thessalonians 1:9

***

Soul, what more could I say

that would convince you not to go down there?

Hell is a society at its worst.

To live among the most vile sinners,

whose lust can not be satisfied

whose cravings can never be quenched.

The reality of hell is so horrible

that words are inadequate to describe it!

Who could describe the horrid smell of flesh

falling off the bones, yet without death?

Where the worm never dies, and the fire is not quenched,

as you suffer alone in such hopelessness.

Every minute hundreds of people like yourself

slide down into the pit of hell.

Many will be released as you're reading this.

They dangle like a spider over an open flame,

waiting to descend at a moments time

into a night that has no morning.

What Does the Bible Say About Hell?

But this doesn't have to be your fate.

The Scripture says,

"For God so loved the world,

that He gave His only begotten Son,

that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish,

but have everlasting life."

            ~ John 3:16

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,

and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead,

thou shalt be saved."

               ~ Romans 10:9

Tonight, if you would like to receive the gift of eternal life

first you must believe in the Lord.

You have to ask for your sins to be forgiven

and place your trust in the Lord.

There's only one way to heaven and that's through the Lord Jesus.

That's God's wonderful plan of salvation.

You can begin a personal relationship with Him

by praying a prayer such as the following:

"Oh God, I am a sinner.

I am sorry for my sins.

I want to turn from my sin.

I receive Jesus Christ as my Savior;

I confess Him as my Lord.

From now on I want to follow Him.

In Jesus' name, Amen."

If you decided to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior

after reading this invitation, please let us know.

We would love to hear from you. Your first name is sufficient.

We'll leave the light on for you...

Welcome to the family of God!

We are excited about your decision to accept Christ as your Savior,

and would like to encourage you to find a local church that you could be a part of

to help you grow in your new walk with Him.

Also, we encourage you to develop a personal relationship with Christ

Talk to Him as you would talk to a dearest friend.

He desires that closeness and intimacy with you!

"He shall feed his flock like a shepherd:

he shall gather the lambs with his arm,

and carry them in his bosom,

and shall gently lead those that are with young."

                ~ Isaiah 40:11
