Dear Soul,

I love you!

Please don't resent me for writing you this uncomfortable letter.

It's a topic that is not frequently discussed,

yet it will be the most important decision of your life.

"Where will you spend Eternity?"

"Where will you be in a hundred years from now?"

Every day, thousands of people will slip into Eternity,

either in Heaven or in Hell.

Inspite of God's pleadings they have rejected God's mercy

and must face eternity without Him.

In a place called Hell.

All throughout scripture God warns us repeatedly  of the reality of Hell.

He warns us as a father would warn his child

to keep him from danger and protect him from harm.

One may ask how can a loving God send a person to Hell?

Soul, He doesn't send you there,

you send yourself there by rejecting the blood of His Son

for the forgiveness of your sins.

You would have to walk over His blood stained body

in order to go to Hell.

You are the one who makes that decision.

Listen  for a moment to what the Scripture says about Hell.

Soul, what if a loved one were to come to such a place?

"But the wicked are like the troubled sea,

when it cannot rest,

whose waters cast up mire and dirt.

"There is no peace", saith my God to the wicked."

                  ~ Isaiah 57:20-21

"...He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone

in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb.

And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up forever and ever:

and they have no rest day nor night..."

                      ~ Revelations 14:10-11

"But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile,

the murderers, the sexually immoral,

and those who practice magic arts,

the idolaters, and all liars -

their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur.

This is the second death."

                   ~ Revelations 21:8

"If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life,

he was thrown into the lake of fire."

                  ~ Revelations 20:15

"They will throw them into the fiery furnace,

where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

              ~ Matthew 13:42

"Where their worm dieth not,

and the fire is not quenched."

            ~ Mark 9:48

...Then will He say to those on His left,

"Depart from Me, you who are cursed,

into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels."

          ~ Matthew 25:41

"They will be punished with everlasting destruction

and shut out from the presence of the Lord..."

          ~ 2 Thessalonians 1:9

***

O soul, hear the tears in my voice,

What could I say that would convince you not go down there?

What could I say to that would   persuade you to turn from your sins

while there is still forgiveness and hope?

If I could walk the pit of hell with you for a moment,

to show you the agony of souls who died in their sin

it would make you vomit!

You would run to your loved ones to warn them

lest they also come to this place.

The reality of Hell is so horrible

that words are inadaquate to describe it.

Who could describe the horrid smell of flesh

falling off the bones, yet without death?!

Where the worm never dies, and the fire is not quenched,

as you suffer alone in such hopelessness.

Soul, bend closer,

let me in on you a secret...

"In hell, you won't be having a good time with your friends!"

The parties, the drugs, and alcohol,

act as a bandaid to put over your wounded heart.

Although I am helpless in saving you,

I can point you to the One, who can.

Every minute hundreds of people like yourselves

will slide down into the pit of Hell,

waiting to be released in a moment's time.

Many will be released tonight  as you are reading this.

They dangle like a spider over an open flame,

waiting to descend at a moments time.

But this doesn't have to be your fate!

The fact that you're reading this says there is still time to accept

the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.

The Scripture says,

"For God so loved the world,

that He gave His only begotten Son,

that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish,

but have everlasting life."

             ~ John 3:16

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,

and shalt believe in thine heart

that God hath raised Him from the dead,

thou shalt be saved."

              ~ Romans 10:9

The Lord longs that you spend with you

yet He will not force Himself upon anyone

who does not want to spend eternity with Him.

A person must receive what Christ has done for him,

by acknowledging the Lord Jesus as their personal Savior

and by placing their faith in Him.

Each individual must decide for himself

whether he will accept or reject the blood of His Son.

A person who will not believe on the Lord Jesus,

God can do nothing else but to condemn him for all of eternity

into the Lake of Fire.

But tonight, you can make a decision for Christ.

You can have your sin forgiven and begin a personal relationship with Him

by praying a prayer such as the following:

"Oh God, I am a sinner.

I am sorry for my sins.

I want to turn from my sin.

I receive Jesus Christ as my Savior;

I confess Him as my Lord.

From now on, I want to follow Him.

In Jesus' name, Amen."

If you have received the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior

after reading this invitation, please let us know.
